Property

It appearances in fine blue-violet crystalline powder, is a series of nonstoichiometric tungsten oxide, which the range of color change is from navy blue to blue, light blue and blue-green.

Preparation

1. Heat the tungsten oxide to 1,300-1,500℃ in an inert gas stream;.
2. Tungsten powder and tungsten oxide heated in the inert gas stream or carried out reduction with hydrogen gas;
3. Ammonium paratungstate crystals dope into reducing compound which can be volatile and then heated in a nitrogen stream.

Application

It is the most important pioneer of the production line from tungsten oxide to tungsten (W) and tungsten carbide (WC) powder.
